It’s a fact large asteroids have hit Earth in the past and will in the future. The scars of these impacts are visible all over the planet. If a big enough asteroid hits Earth it will disrupt the atmosphere enough to end humanity. The dinosaurs couldn’t survive it and neither could we. Nobody needs one more thing to worry about in this modern life, such as an apocalyptic asteroid strike, but good news, engineers from MIT have designed a framework for deflecting an Earth-bound asteroid.
