Good news spaghetti lovers –pasta is good for you now! In fact, it could help you lose weight. A new analysis from researchers in Toronto looked at the effect of pasta –both when consumed alone, as well as when it’s part of a diet that are low on the glycemic index (also known as “good carbs”). Good carbs take longer to digest and don’t impact blood sugar as much as foods higher on the index.
The study found that people who ate an average of one-and-a-half cups of cooked pasta a week lost weight. That led the researchers to conclude that pasta can benefit your waistline “when it is consumed as part of a healthy dietary pattern.”
