Our good positive story involves a young man who decided to stand up against a childhood medical diagnosis, more than that, he changed his mind and decided to stand up against his former victim mindset.
The results were astonishing. As a child, Patrick Bisher was told he would never walk again because of his degenerative hip disease. Patrick said, “initially I developed a chip on my shoulder and developed a victims mentality.” But, Patrick joined a group of folks that helped change his thought process. He said, “I became a warrior instead of a victim to my circumstances.” He said, “I was able to serve others and serve this nation in the best way that I could.” So, what was this group that Patrick joined that helped him change his mentality and help him serve his country? He became a member of the military… More specifically he became a Navy seal! Later Patrick the soldier endured a parachute accident and required a hip replacement. Still he persevered, overcame his injury, and was later deployed to Iraq.
